Day 39: The good news. And the bad news.

The good news: It has been so long since I ordered a pizza, I had forgotten their phone number that I used to have memorized.

The bad news: I have google on my iPhone which makes it easy to locate forgotten phone numbers.

The good news: I only had 2 pieces of cheesy bread for dinner and topped it off with a protein drink. Could have been worse.

The good news: I enjoyed hanging out with one of my friends today who I have not seen in a long time. We visited, poolside, and our kids played really well together.

The bad news: She enticed me over to her new home with promises of home made cherry pie & almond ice cream (also home made). And she's one of the best cooks I know. The pie was so delicious it made me want to cry.

The good news: Her pie only contains a quarter cup of sugar. It could have been a worse scenario. And since I was visiting her home and using my manners, I only had one piece. If this pie had been left on my doorstep, I believe I would have ate the whole thing and then denied ever seeing it.

The bad news: I had to stop by Dr. Hempel's office today and have some skin procedures done. And it hurt. And he implied that I'm a wimp. He told me that other patients have the same things done every day and they don't complain one bit. (They are trying to be polite... I don't have to. I'm his wife. I can squeal and squirm- it's in the contract.)

The good news: While at the practice today, I met this AWESOME guy named Will. Will is a regular reader of RebuildingAmy & he's putting me to shame this summer with his outdoor activities and exercise - what an inspiration! And I'm just thrilled to know there's at least ONE MAN reading my blog! And I got to meet him today... how cool is that??!
Here's the shout-out..... HEY WILL!! : )

Nothing can top that. I'm outta here. (and I did get my cardio in today, sucka's... but DANG my muscles are hurting from that 20 minutes of weight training yesterday. Maybe I AM a wimp.)

I have been out of town so was behind on everything and I sit here in jealousy. I have wanted bikes for every, but it's just not been in the budget. We take the kids on rides and we walk, still great exercise, but I would LOVE to go out and do that with my hubby! I too love that bike bath and seeing all the animals, rivers, stores, and houses! Way to go! I do have to report that other than the two days I was traveling I did exercise every day! I was in Illionios, and even when it was 83 degrees and humid at 7 in the morning...I still went! (hot and sweaty! Keep it up girl!

Amy I really love your blog and have it posted on my blog Off With the Old. Would you take a peek at at mine and give me a little feedback? I'm new to blogging on such a personal topic :) Your blog is a real blessing to people who are thinking about WLS, just starting out, or who are more experienced.

Thanks again! Umm, and the pie was torture to look at -- yum. And some day I'll be able to enjoy it myself (right?)

Warmly,
Lynn

"I don't know about helping people out there" Ummm...helllllll-O chica...you are definitely helping others. Your blog makes me giggle and reminds me to not take myself or my diet so seriously that I forget to make it fun. Often when I am feeling overwhelmed with the long journey ahead of me, I come here and read and laugh, and remember that although releasing weight is not easy, I am not alone in my struggles. So, thank you!!!
