ADD & need to get in an hour of cardio? Here's some help!

I try to go to the gym 4-5 days a week. Some days I LOVE being there. Some days I'd rather be sitting in the middle of the road, chewing on my toenails. Because of this, I have to be prepared when I go to workout.
The first tool I have to have would be my cell phone. Calling it a phone is an understatement. It's a Blackberry. This means I can take pictures of myself & strangers when they are not looking, email, and rant- all while my heart rate is in the 160's. Awesome.

It's important to be productive while you are mindlessly pumping your legs back and forth. This is the best time to give all of my attention to important reading materials such as People and US Weekly. Today I took the latest WW's recipe mag & made a shopping list for dinner: Shrimp with White Beans. It was YUMMY! ALL of my waters are flavored. My latest FAV flavor? Ocean Spray's grapefruit. LOVE it.

If you dare to get on a machine next to mine, I'm going to talk to you. A lot. I have made many gym friends this way. I also have people who avoid me like the plague. That's fine- I'll share my life's story with someone else. Like this lovely lady, Ms. Christine! She's a gym friend who is not afraid of me. She doesn't pretend to not see me and WILLINGLY works out next to me.

Or COURSE we all have to have our iPods! Don't strain your eyes- I was listening to "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al when I took this pic. How is it you can have over eighty songs on one of these and be tired of all of your music? If you are one of my BEST gym friends, I will occasionally sing out loud to you while wearing my headphones which makes me EXTRA obnoxious. Fun for everyone!

And if all else fails, you can always dance. I am GREAT dancer. I forget the name of this move but whatever it is, I make it look GOOD.

Then there's the Running Man. Is there such a thing as the Elliptical Man? I think I'm on to something...

... and no ADD gym dance session is complete without the Robot.
I hope you have found something here that can help you the next time you're at the gym and need something to take your mind off of your routine. If you have any other "ADD workout" tips, please share in the comment section!
And if you see me at the gym & you're not in the mood to talk, just put your headphones on. I'll get the hint and Moonwalk over to another machine.

I would so be your gym buddy!

I have over 800 songs on my iPod, and I can never find anything I want to listen to! Sad, I know.

great photos and I love the quote you would sometimes rather be in the middle of the road chewing on your toenails than the gym. I felt that way today.

Looking good girl! I have about 250 songs on mine - I don't get bored with them but I do listen to the same 50 or so - mostly Christmas - year round - yay for Christmas!

Love the post! Your ADD workout reminds me of going bowling with my son the other day. He just turned 13 and has ADHD. When it was his turn to bowl he would do various moves, spin in circles until it was time to release the ball, ballet jumps, etc... the normal bowling moves weren't enough.
